City Sunset in Singapore ✨
While in Singapore, we learned some fun facts from the locals! Here’s a few:
The Singapore Grand Prix Racing Circuit is not only Asia’s first one but also held the first ever F1 night-race in its 2008 inaugural race.
Though Singapore is a city state, it consists of 63 smaller islands.
Singapore is one of the only three surviving city-states in the world. The other two are Monaco and Vatican City.
Tourists are allowed to bring chewing gum with them, but only maximum of two packs per person. Any more than that and they will be susceptible to be charged with "gum smuggling" which carries the penalty of one year in jail and $5,500 fine. Stop chewing your gum when you see the police!
Cars in Singapore are expensive - it could cost anywhere between 200-300% of the cars open market value. Before buying a car, you’ll need a COE (Certificate of Entitlement) which entitles you to the right to register, own and use a vehicle in Singapore for the duration of 10 years. Also, there is only a limited number of COEs to go around. It’s a good thing that public transportation in Singapore is very clean and easy to use! #wanderlustylexsingapore
