Swimming with Stingless Jellyfish

• Swimming with thousands of jellyfish felt like entering another planet. 🪼✨ I still can’t believe these jellyfish don’t sting! Jellyfish lakes are quite rare, and Misool is one of the few places where you can swim with these gentle creatures. Discovered just a few years ago, this lake has one of the densest populations of stingless jellyfish anywhere. Over time, these jellyfish evolved to be stingless due to the lack of predators in the lake. If you’re heading to Raja Ampat, make sure to add this spot to your list! 📍 Lake Lenmakana, Misool, Raja Ampat You can also have similar experiences in other parts of the world, like Palau, Kakaban Island, and Siargao in the Philippines. It’s incredible to think there are places around the globe where you can swim with stingless jellyfish. Remember, these jellyfish are super fragile. Swim lightly, avoid wearing fins, and use reef-safe sunscreen to protect these beautiful creatures.
