Utilizing Continuous Lights in Photography
Don’t fight the light!
This weekend while photographing @nik_lovins wedding, my team and I were prepping for the first dance in a dark barn when the video team (oh hey @robadamsfilms 😉) turned on their continuous lights in the corners of the dance floor.
What does that mean for us bounce-flash loving photographers? DON’T FIGHT THE LIGHT.
Work with the continuous lights and move your body and your settings to utilize their lights as best you can. Instead of trying to over power their lights, set them up as your main and rim lights, making sure that you’re not going above an appropriate ISO for your camera and not too low on your shutter speed (don’t want blurry pictures!) Yesterday I did a LIVE teaching on continuous lights ok @adorama IG - you can head to my stories to see the entire video and how I use continuous lights to my advantage. Swipe to see my photos from the video!
Thanks @michaelaustinnicolo for being my model :)
