The pool sunbeds were empty, not a towel in sight, but the bigger competition has moved to the beach… We are currently in Menorca and had heard about these remote paradise beaches... However, after arriving there at 10:30am we were turned away as the car parks were full. We tried again the following day at 9am, again, the car parks were full. At this point we were told the car parks are always full by 07:30!! Absolutely crazy we thought, but by now we were committed to the cause. We set our alarm for 6am, plucked our 4 year old from his bed and set off on the 40 minute drive to the car park. It felt as ridiculous as it sounds. We arrived bang on 7:30 and took the very last parking space! Was it worth it? The beaches are undeniably beautiful and I will post more about them soon. But would I get up at 6am for them again? Absolutely not 🤣😅 August is a crazy time to travel, I’d recommend visiting in September or earlier in the summer to avoid this madness.
Can you believe this is a city on Menorca island?! 🤩 Ciutadella is a port city on the west coast of the island. It has a beautiful old quarter with medieval streets and is a lovely change from the beaches. We drove there at the end of the day towards sunset, enjoyed some gelato and mooched about the quaint little streets. Perfect 😍
Menorca is a paradise island jam packed with the most amazing beaches. Often over shadowed by its livelier neighbours, Mallorca and Ibiza, it actually has more beaches than the two combined! ✈️ We spent a week there in August for just £1300 for the three of us, this included flights and our accommodation! ⛱️ The beach in this video is Macarelleta beach, one of many virgin beaches on the island. There are lots of scenic coastal walks connecting the beaches. 📝 I have written a blog post with everything you’ll need to plan a bargain trip to this amazing island (the link is currently in my link tree)
