Exploring Illa del Rei in Menorca

Wondering what to do in Menorca? This is a great trip out if you fancy a change from the beaches! Illa del Rei is a small island in the middle of the entry channel to Mahón port (the second largest natural port in Europe!). It housed a military hospital which you can now visit. We spent £17 (€20) for the three of us (€10 adults and they let Leo travel for free). This gets you the return boat ride plus entry to the galleries, hospital and grounds. The boats leave Mahón on the hour and return from the island at half past the hour. We got the 11:00 boat out and returned on the 12:30. There is a lovely restaurant there, so you could plan to go and enjoy lunch on the island. Leo really enjoyed this trip and asked if we could go back the next day! (We didn’t 😅) A great cheap alternative to more expensive boat trips and excursions.
