Tips for an Affordable Coastal Holiday

Finding a SUPER cheap holiday requires a bit of extra planning and forward thinking. Not only do you need to find cheap flights and a cheap room, you also need to think about what you will do once you are there. šŸ’°Is it an expensive country you are visiting? Because if so, the total cost will quickly spiral out of control. šŸ– Is there a lot to do there? Especially within walking distance. A beautiful coastal walk, lovely beaches and a quaint picturesque town will give you lots to do for free. If all of the activities available cost a lot and require expensive taxis to get to - again, the total price will escalate quickly. šŸ” Is there a supermarket near by? Does your room have a kitchen? Self catering will mean you need a lot less spending money compared to if you eat out. During our current trip we have eaten two meals at ā€œhomeā€ and one meal out per day. Meaning we have spent very little on food. šŸš Are you staying close to a public transport route? Buses are a super cheap way to get around. For a couple of euros you can explore further than your feet can take you. Getting a bus to the next town or beach makes for a very cheap day out. We have made the most of the bus routes in Gran Canaria and seen a lot more than we could have on foot. #grancanaria #grancanarias #canaryislands #wintersun #familyholiday #familyholidays #thetravelmum #thetravelmumuk #toddlertravel #cheaptravel #babytravel #travelwithbaby #familytravel #travelfamily #travelblogger #puertodemogan #puertodemogĆ”n #mogĆ”n
