Every now and again I have these big moments of realisation. The biggest was in 2016 after Iโd spent months living in the wilderness of Scotland... Living in shelters that we built, farming, fishing and growing our own food, no electricity, no contact with โthe outside worldโ, actually having to talk to each other because we had no phones to distract us - life at its most basic yet feeling happy and fulfilled. Those few months taught me the value of experience and time - no one on their death bed wishes they had more money or that theyโd worked harder/more - itโs always a longing for more time to do more. After that experience I decided I would work to support my life, I wouldnโt live to support the hospital. I think too many of us get that mixed up.

Recently Iโve realised how few people appreciate the travel opportunities on their door step. Iโve met lots of great people on instagram who are travel obsessed like me. Women who live half way around the world - and so many of them are dreaming of visiting places like London or Scotland. Places I could drive to in a few hours, but i donโt. Women in India who can fly to Sri Lanka / Maldives / Thailand in a few hours - but donโt because these places feel boring to them. Women in Florida who have the Caribbean and central/South America a few hours flight away, yet they are dreaming of the Mediterranean. Iโm dreaming of road tripping in NZ, while a girl in NZ is dreaming of road tripping in Scotland. Neither of us have road tripped in our own countries! We want what we cant have.

For me itโs been eye opening to see the UK and our bordering countries through the eyes of someone else. Every country has great architecture, amazing food, natural wonders - you just have to look and appreciate!

This picture was taken in Cyprus last week. Only a few hours flight which (usually) costs next to nothing with budget airlines! We found so many remote, beautiful places!
