Visiting Tallulah Gorge State Park in Georgia
Visit Georgia’s beauty at Tallulah Gorge.💦⛰️🌳
This Georgia State Park is located up in the mountains in northeast Georgia. It’s a lovely drive and a great day trip from the Atlanta area. If it’s in the fall, the tree color will be lovely!
Here are my top tips to get the most out of your visit:
🌳Weekends are more busy so get there early! Or go during the week.
🌲Wear your hiking boots. Those stairs are a doozy.
🌳Bring plenty of water and leave the heavy nonessentials at home.
🌲Leave the puppy at home if you’re headed down to the bridge - he isn’t allowed to go.
🌳Watch the river for the rafters attempting the rapids.
🌲Get there early if you want to hike down to the gorge floor. Only a limited number can go.
🌳Head south from the visitor’s center for a shorter hike.
🌲Head north to hike over to the other side of the gorge and across the dam.
🌳Check at the Visitor Center to see if the suspension bridge exit is open - The day of our visit it was closed for the rafting access.
🌲Prepare yourself for the 1000 stairs to get down and out of the suspension bridge. You can do it!👏🏻
Here’s your reminder, Georgians.
👉You don’t have to go far to have an adventure!
❓What’s your favorite Georgia hike? Bonus if waterfalls are involved. ❤️
