Visiting Booker T. Washington National Monument

Two main things I will remember of this stop? . 1) Frustration. 2) Pulling up to park in front of the NPS relieved to have the chance to wipe off the tears... This new Vanderbeekers audiobook. It sure has some triggers. PM me if you want details. I promise the tears were the book - I don’t ever cry with the kid books. Usually manage to keep it in. . . I knew it said online that the visitor center would be closed due to Covid and the rangers would be outside dependent on weather. I stubbornly didn’t realize this meant that if it was drizzling that the whole place would be closed down. . . So we drove through some pretty countryside with hills and farms. Pottied. Mom said Booker T Washington several times and, hopefully, planted some memory pegs. Few though they were. . . History tour, day 2A - fail.
