Reclaiming Wonders
The image is a composite of two photographs depicting the Mission Concepción, a historic Spanish Catholic mission located in San Antonio, Texas. The top image shows a grassy field with several large oak trees in the foreground. In the distance, the distinctive tan stone structure of the Mission Concepción can be seen, with its distinctive arched entranceway and domed bell towers. Two people, a man and a woman, are sitting on the ground in the foreground, their backs facing the camera. The bottom image is a wider view of the same scene, capturing the entire mission complex. The buildings are constructed of tan stone, with red tiled roofs and ornate architectural details. The mission grounds are surrounded by a lush green lawn and a few scattered trees.

Visit to Mission Concepción in San Antonio

Mission de Concepción gave us a prio quarry to make pretend fires (our number one go to it seems), big sticks got Hunter to proudly show the staff, trees for Katie to sing "There are Giants in the sky...", Mommy's pictures, and our first glimpse into history. I do love that with our sorta timeline memorization for homeschooling we can put things into perspective of when they happened. We didn't even get to remember the Alamo this trip. That means more left for next time!
