Tips for Exploring the Everglades

Pessimism means I’m bracing for a failure before we’ve even started. It’s my speciality. Anyone else? 🙋‍♀️😄 When we headed to The Everglades last May, I was a grump, but I got better as the day progressed. (I think?) I can look back and say we enjoyed it, but it would have been much better if I had some tips like these! ‼️There are two entrances to Everglades National Park, and they aren’t connected. You don’t want to do both in one day. To really “do” the Everglades with a family (even just the southern route), consider spending more than one day and breaking it up. 👉If I had a redo button, this is what I would do! 🐊Day one - Go on the water by airboat or kayak trip. The only way you can get in that turquoise ocean is by boat. There are no beaches for swimming or snorkeling. Something about crocodiles? 😉Pay for an airboat ride early in the day. 🛑Even though you’ll be finished before the park closes, don’t plan to go hiking afterward. You will be all be burned and exhausted and hungry. If you try to hike a trail, no one will be happy about it – you’ll probably have to wake them up to do it anyways. 🐊Day two - Go explore some of Miami’s museums, check out . . . Go grab a ton of more info about planning a trip to the Everglades on the blog - link in profile! . . 👉👉DM me to learn out where the alligator hides out! It’ll take out some of your guess work.
