The Place That Feels Like Home

Help me. I need a word. Travel heart? Adventure home? 🏔️🌳❤️ A word for that place that is your favorite vacation spot. Where, despite all your family travels, this is the place that pulls you. The land that holds so many memories. The view that can bring tears to your eyes at remembering. 👉For me that place is southern Colorado. The kids have loved their time there. It just feels like home.❤️ Growing up, my grandparents had a cabin between South Fork and Creede. Not a big fancy tourist place. Not a fancy, new condo. Just a log cabin next to the Rio Grande surrounded by mountains. With free time for roaming and exploring and relaxing. These are the mountains where my mom went every summer with her parents. Where my newlywed parents went fly fishing in their tiny cabover camper. Where they’ve spent every summer in their RV for the last fifty years. Where my brother and I spent our childhood summer vacations. And in all “coincidence”, It’s also the place where my husband grew up camping. His grandparents and parents and cousins… It was one of our immediate connections. We won’t be going this year, but man, it’s pulling me. There just isn’t room in the busy summer for it to happen. Next summer, I’m coming for you Colorado. I’m going home.❤️ ❓Maybe we should quit looking for the new and exciting ‼️And focus on the favorites to build those memories. 👉Where’s your “vacation home”? . . . . . .
