The Lazy Mom's Guide to Homeschooling
Wondering how to get more time for homeschool adventures?
Use the lazy mom method. 🙋♀️🥱🏆
Just talk to those big kids.
It can happen anywhere, it doesn’t cost anything, and it’s pretty low pressure.
My 15 year old told me about her Classical Conversations debate topic in the car on the way to choir practice.
All you have to do is allow time and silence.
(Note: We did school and music class and driving lessons; multi-task your home education!)
❓Ask questions. Act stupid. Let them explain.
🤩Even if you know the answer, don’t let them know! Kids are more willing to tell you if they’re teaching you something and not just waiting to be corrected.
Hard-core homeschool mom would probably call this narration.
I call it “talking to your children.”
And being a sneaky teacher. 😉
👉Remember, sitting at a desk happens more as you have big kids and teenagers.
It’s harder to get away from the desk.
It’s not impossible; it’s just harder.
This is the best time you will have for a field trip to the zoo.
Or the playground with friends.
Or even just watch the birds at the pet store.
Put up the books and math.
Remember who teaches your homeschooler.
❤️Mom (or Dad or Aunt or Grandma…)
