The Importance of Community and Meaningful Connections
It’s not easy to talk about but… Sap and deep thoughts ahead. 🥹❤️
(Doesn’t happen often. So hang on…)
People need people.
Even me. Even you.
Especially your kids.
Last night I went to a homeschool group tutor gathering. Low key. Not much expectation. Just a time with mom friends.
But …
Instead of just small talk…
I left with gratitude and peace for the friendships that continually point me back to God and what really matters.
But…
Instead of a quick “See you when we start back in August…
They gathered around me and prayed for me and my upcoming trip.
They know me well enough to pour into me even when my emotion-avoidant self would rather hide.
They reminded me of the One who is truly the peace giver in the midst of uncertainty.
So quit making goals…
👉About things that don’t matter.
(for the next school year or summer or whenever)
Instead, make goals
👉To allow yourself to be poured into.
👉To be surrounded by people who love you no matter how grumpy you are.
👉To continually be refocused on Truth.
Over this last week, the kids and I have spent hours with friends. It’s truly a blessing to get to do life with our tribe.
(PS: That also means getting to know your kids’ friends. Teens are pretty awesome.)
All that to say.
❤️Be intentional.
❤️Don’t take your people for granted.
They need your awesomeness as much as you need theirs.
👉Then go schedule a time to hang with them. 😉
