Teaching Kids About 9/11 Through a Picture Book

20 years later —- Why are there not more excellent books to teach our kids about September 11? . . This book recounts the four planes, quotes the survivors, mourns the lost, and honors the heroes. It’s a hard subject but tactfully done. . . Don Brown’s picture book gets my vote for a must read. You have a week to track it down and prepare for discussion with your family. You’re welcome. . . Prepare to get teary. Or blame Covid. That’s what I did. . . I encourage you. Take a break from ancient history and all the distant stuff. Let’s teach our recent history and apply it to today. There has never been a year when it applies more. . . “America started its day… Airports roared with jetliners… Among their ordinary passengers were nineteen deadly men… At 8:00 AM on September 11, 2001, they acted.” . . 📕America is Under Attack 📗Written and Illustrated by Don Brown 📘Roaring Book Press; @mackidsbooks . . ❤️ @reclaimingwonders
