Reclaiming Wonders
A stack of books rests on a blue camping chair in an outdoor setting, surrounded by a wooden fence and a green storage shed in the background. The books appear to be a mix of fiction and non-fiction titles, including 'Mama Bear Apologetics', 'A Mind for Numbers', 'Stamped from the Beginning' by Ibram X. Kendi, and a novel by Louise Penny. The scene suggests a peaceful, relaxing moment of reading and contemplation amidst nature.

Summer Reading Nook

You might be a nerd when... this is my fun vacation reading stack ;) And, yes, I read with a pencil. Gotta have a conversation with the book, right? Some of you have asked for recommendations. The rest can zoom right past... . . Mama Bear Apologetics - about truly teaching our kids why they believe in Christ and not just going along with it. Good book and good podcast. . A Mind for Numbers - eh. Hopefully to learn better how to help my kids learn effectively. . Stamped from the Beginning - historically fascinating about where racist beliefs came from all the way back to Aristotle. I’m seeing history points I’ve covered with the kids in a new light and learning about events I should have heard about before. And there are about fifty pages of endnotes and documentation to back it up. And with my phone im looking up extras. . PS: Henry the Navigator didn’t have a school of navigation and went to Africa to start the slave trade... What?! . And a Louise Penny reread. because Gamache is my happy place sometimes ;)
