Rugged Desert Rock Formations

The different rock colors and level amaze me especially when you realize how some of these level are at a crazy angle. They especially loved the green and purple levels mixed in the orange and red. We pretty much slid down this fragile trail.. once I pulled them and Dad off the mountain. This after M said, "I don't really care about rocks..." and then they tested strengths, writing, colors, levels... faker. At the end of the road was a 1918 cabin which led to a discussion of survival for this divorced woman out on her own in the canyon... and a chilly picnic. A different type of beautiful landscape that makes me wish I knew geology... @adambinco needs to take us rock hounding!
