Rock Formations at Red River Gorge
Angels Windows trail at Red river Gorge is worth the hike - even when it’s cold and wet like it was for us in Thanksgiving. The rock formations are just so amazing. I wanted a geologist along to explain things!
.
Like the other trail, Whistling Arch, it does follow along a steep drop off after awhile so watch the littles. It’s a good path until the rock formations - just don’t go exploring off-path after the arches like mine did.
.
I don’t think it clicked in my head just how steep it was on the sides until looking back at this video!!
.
There is so much we didn’t get to see on this loop - we just need to go back for al the other trails. So many to chose from. It’s a narrow two lane paved road throughout the Daniel Boone National Forest with slopes on each side - not the best for foggy, cold, (too fast) husband driving at dusk 😋
.
Take a brain break between the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum to get out in nature and do some exploring!
.
And how come I don’t know anyone who has explored this cool area? Maybe it’s better kept a secret 🥾🌳😉
