Reclaiming Wonders
A book titled 'William Shakespeare's Macbeth' by Bruce Coville, with pictures by Gary Kelley, lies on a wooden surface. Next to the book is a handwritten note listing '3 Witches, King Duncan, Beth, Macbeth, Anguo-Fleance, Donalbain, wife, kids-'. The note appears to be a list of characters from Shakespeare's play Macbeth, likely written to help follow the plot and keep track of the numerous characters, particularly as the post text mentions reading the play and the difficulty of remembering characters when many die throughout the story.

Reading Shakespeare's Macbeth with Kids

Another one of those “Why didn’t I do this years ago?!” moments. . Write down the name of the characters so you can follow along better. Especially when so many people die! . We’re reading Macbeth - this picture book was great! - for our #classicalconversationsessentials book club next month. After reading the Usborne version and Children’s story version, this was my favorite. The others were good for easier introductions though. . Granted, I also read them my favorite quote... and I’m waiting for them to resurrect it. “Out, out damned spot!” I usually think it while doing laundry ;) . Here’s to more Shakespeare in or future and figuring this homeschool thing out one day at a time.
