Reclaiming Wonders
A large, ornate framed oil painting depicting a regal-looking older man with powdered white hair styled in an elaborate updo. The man is dressed in opulent attire, including a red velvet cape with fur trim draped over his shoulders, a white jacket adorned with intricate gold embroidery and sparkling jewels or medals, and white knee-breeches. The painting showcases the man standing in a formal pose, his right hand resting on his waist, and his left hand gesturing outward. The overall style and grandeur of the portrait suggest it is a depiction of a monarch or sovereign ruler from centuries past, likely from the 18th or 19th century.

Portrait of King George III at Birmingham Museum of Art

#birminghammuseumofart and a love for #hamilton and some history songs allowed our appreciation of King George III who America rebelled against. I called M over who immediately identified him because “He looks just like I thought he would” ;) Maybe her #homeschoolmom should research the factual portrayal of our guy... might be assuming a bit too much from Up beat British pop song lyrics ;). “I will kill your friends and family to remind you of my love. Dah da dah da dah” ;)
