Native American Stone Effigy Trail

#eaglerock in #eatontonga is only one of two Native American stone effigies east of the Mississippi River... and it’s close by. We were the only ones there and scared off a vulture on our way up the observation tower to see the bird. Also, close to the birth place of Alice Walker (aka The Color Purple) as evidenced by the poem... In the town where I was born There is a mound Some eight feet high That from the ground Seems piles up stones In Georgia Insignificant. But from above The lookout tower Floor An eagle widespread In solid gravel Stone Takes shape Below... Road tripping to Prince Caspian on the radio, local history, Native American tradition, bird house investigating, and the only non rainy day on schedule for the week... means a day of adventuring.
