Reclaiming Wonders
A young girl wearing glasses and a blue t-shirt with a graphic design is sitting on the floor, focused on doing her homework or classwork. She is writing on a worksheet with a pencil, surrounded by various educational materials such as colored pencils, blocks, and manipulatives. The floor is made of wood, and there is a red plastic storage crate in the background, suggesting this is a learning environment, likely at home or in a classroom.

Math Learning with Manipulatives

I hate the idea of manipulatives. Mess. Clutter. Small pieces like Legos. These Math U Can See pieces just entered our house and were scattered from play. Just like I predicted. . . But... . . They’re so much better than the ones and tens blocks I already had and never used. They lock together kinda. Can stack like Legos... I wish I hadn’t been so stubborn for so many years... lesson learned. And needed this week for borrowing and carrying practice. . . And now to get rid of the other —- Declutter to keep the best stuff. These and the counting bears can stay because they’re cute and make me happy... And that IS what’s important ;)
