Reclaiming Wonders
A group of people, including adults and children, are gathered on a grassy field in front of a row of residential buildings. They are carefully handling large American flags, with one adult holding the folded flag upright while others help unfurl and support its expanse. The scene appears to be a reverent ceremony of lowering or taking down the flag at the end of the day. The blue sky and the simple residential architecture in the background suggest a peaceful, small-town or rural setting. The image conveys a sense of patriotism, community, and the passing of tradition from one generation to the next.

Lowering the Flag Ceremony with Park Rangers

Highlight of day 2... the routine taking down if the fort flag at the end of the day. The amazing National Park rangers invited my kids to help and had a wonderful experience witnessing the reverence of the rangers but also in learning how to properly care for the flag. This wasn't on my "list" for today and hope they carry it with them for a long time. Maybe if more kids did such in childhood....
