Kids Enjoying the Splash Pad

“Let the little kids play.” It seems this was said to some of our group of kids at the zoo splash pad yesterday when I wasn’t watching. 😠 Our seven kids ages 6 to (almost) 13 were playing and laughing and splashing. They didn’t run over littles - didn’t even run! They were in the same area as the other kids, had been told to watch out, and were doing nothing questionable. When they told us, we told them they had just as much right to be there. No signs gave age limits. They were behaving. And they were wearing Tshirts! Not even inappropriate clothes. Here’s to normalizing big kids who still know to be kids. And here’s to normalizing 13 year olds who can play and be kind to 6 year friends. Splash away, guys! 💦
