Insect Festival at Botanical Gardens

#insectival at #georgiastatebotanicalgardens for their annual event was this weekend. We had no idea what to expect and weren’t prepared for the crowd... or the hike to get in. Other than the free beauty that just is the gardens, we talked to college students about their research involving black flies to cure disease, handled Madagascar cockroaches and other big insects, made crafts about the Caddis flies’ home, looked at cool bug specimens, and, most importantly, got some cool plastic insect rings ;). Good time had by all although we really just wanted to go exploring. Next time, earlier because we missed the butterfly release. Did I mention that the gardens are usually free?
