Hot Air Balloon Festival at Sandy Creek Park

The #athensballoonfestival brought with it some amazement as the kids announced they had never been that close to a hot air balloon before. They each quickly picked their favorites. And we found a fun new lake with a beach at #sandycreekpark . Although we didn’t wait in line for the $$ balloon rides, we were entertained at the park and by snocones and Nutella-berry crepes. And by all.. the ... people... . The original plan was to stay until the balloon glow, but we left several hours before it would have happened. And still got home exhausted. . Next time, bug spray and picnic blankets and arrive a little later to stay later... With a lot of patience to wait in a car line and balloon ride line and even taco line. . And to bring the missing family members who were camping this weekend. Of course.
