Free History Museum Gem in Columbus, Georgia

Why has no one told me about this awesome free history museum in Columbus, Georgia? We stopped on a whim at Fort Benning at the National Infantry Museum and pulled up to a Smithsonian quality treasure. . Starting at the American Revolution, this museum walks you through wars and battles and the development of the infantry in so much detail. Kids are kept interested with the replicas and weaponry. Parents would just wish for more time because there’s so much to devour. This is a great place for modern history. 🤓 . Need to learn about the Vietnam era? Go park yourself in that section. So much better than a boring book. . . Note: This is not the place for any veterans with PTSD or sound sensitivity. Lots of explosion noises going on. . . Did I mention free?
