Family Homeschooling Morning
Yesterday was a good day. And I think morning time together was the reason. Or it was just a fluke 😉
Between mom’s slackerdom 🙋♀️and sickness and day trips and, we hadn’t done it in about a month. My planner has been blank. Literally.
We gathered at ten.
🧩One kid with a Europe puzzle.
✏️One kid with a new passion for pencil drawing.
🖍One kid with colored pencils.
🎨One kid with tempera paint and a brush.
📆And a mom with a very loose plan.
We prayed and said what we were grateful for.
We read the next chapter in Acts.
We learned about the history and geography of Tarsus and Damascus.
We pulled out chocolate chips for Spanish bingo.
We read about our fave Teddy Roosevelt, connecting him to facts and places we know.
We talked Frida Kahlo - thanks to a recent Stuff You Should Know podcast!
And we watched CNN 10 for the first time now that we have good internet. Woohoo!
Our time together lasted about an hour and a half. Then it was nature group, library pickup, chemistry reading for big kid, and more drawing for the little artist. Lots of Fly Guy and BabySitter’s Club books were consumed while brother finished his audiobook for class. The busy day ended with choir for girls and video games with dad.
I’m so thankful for the learning life we’ve created. Only one textbook was harmed during the making of this day. 😂
PS: Most days do way less. And they still count. ❤️
