Family History Road Trip
Jedi mind games. And travel.
The best way to teach your kids! 😉
Homeschooling big kids through travel is all about creating a learning lifestyle on the road.
Don’t turn on and off “school”.
Don’t call the museum educational or quiz them on boring facts.
Show them interesting things and walk away nonchalantly…
Then watch them narrate it back to Dad. 😉
For her 9th grade year with Classical Conversations, my teenager is reading American history and government. She’s memorizing presidential speeches while learning debate skills, reading original documents while researching world news. CC is so rich. ❤️
🤩All that history deserved a family road trip!
🤩Because I’m a giver.
Family history road trip 🚙🏛️🇺🇸
🔹Met Lincoln at Gettysburg.
🔹Met Franklin in Philadelphia.
🔹Met Washington at Mount Vernon.
🔹Travelled to 1812 at Fort McHenry.
🔹Saw the Capitol and White House and Supreme Court.
🔹Experienced some amazing museums.
🔹Stood in their footsteps.
🔹Stood in history.
Truthfully, my little nerd did do hotel homework because she didn’t want to get behind for class. And even wrote dates in her timeline book so she could remember what she had seen! This wasn’t my doing.🤓
Show them learning is fun.
They’re watching you.
Call it an adventure.
And go!
👉Share this not-subtle reminder with a friend who needs it. ❤️
