Reclaiming Wonders

Exploring a Quaint Scottish Town

First impression of Fort William was not positive... busy highway of people headed to Inverness, small sidewalks, and hiking away from town to get to our apartment. But we headed out for supper and found the cute town filled with all the backpackers coming down from the tallest mountain in Scotland. Fish and fries, steak pie, pizza, hamburger, and potato soup made it supper... You forget how slow paced places are in the world... I wonder how much calmer we would be if Americans would just slow down and enjoy meals without a constant rush. Did I mention we heard men loudly speaking Gaelic at each other? First for that... and the kids have commented how much heavier the Scottish accent are up here in the north. A quick stop off before heading out on the ferry for Skye.
