Empowering Children with Disabilities in Honduras
Think about what most impacted you this last year? Mine was our Honduras trip. I think my teen would say the same. ✈️🌎❤️
Travel intentionally, and the people and experiences mean so much more. We all need reminders to never stop taking blessings for granted. 🙏
👉Scroll pics to meet Jon and Alicia Looney and their two boys. When these two special education teachers realized how children with disabilities are treated in Honduras, they took on the challenge to make a difference. 👧🧒
Imagine. 😢
Your kid has never been able to attend school.
You carry your big kid everywhere because, even if you had a wheelchair, it would be impossible to use on the rough roads.
You can’t afford the supplies he needs like diapers, leg braces, or a walker.
You don’t know how to help your child to ever walk or sit up on his own.
You are supposed to leave them at home and accept it their fate.
You are simply doing your best. 😢

In 2020, the local government decided they needed the school building for triage… so they took it over until last spring. Our church group helped clean and repaint it to be able to open back up. The students were so excited to be back with their friends.
This missionary family has started schools in two different towns and trains others with mobile supplies to go out into more communities. They’re even fighting to get kids with disabilities help and more services from the government. Power team! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
🌟Please consider giving to The Looney Family with World Indigenous Missions as they make a difference, one special kid at a time. If you want to support them financially or have any questions, DM me or the direct link is in stories. I’d love to connect you to their mission!🌟
👉👉Perhaps a mission trip or service trip needs to be added to your plan for the year? I’d love to convince you. ❤️
