Embracing My Hiking Self

He makes it sound so simple. Then again, if it was, maybe it wouldnā€™t take a whole book to convince us. šŸ˜‰ Do you ever imagine a different You? šŸŖ“The Joanna Gaines You at Target. šŸ“¦The organized You at the Container Store. šŸ‘—The well-dressed You at the mall. šŸ„¾Hiking Me loves camping gear. Sheā€™s been hidden for decades. She wants to know what it feels like to adventure for miles in hiking boots. She wants to looks in the mirror and sees a hiker. To be Toughness & Strength. šŸ”ļø I think I spent every summer of my childhood in Colorado wanting to be that person. But, my family didnā€™t hike. We camped in an RV. Roughing it was going without electricity in the camper for five days with a generator and a pit potty for daytime use. (Sorry, Mom and Dadā¤ļø) Two decades later, itā€™s time to become this person. I bought a proper day bag at REI. I have a weekend overnight hike planned with friends in April. The kids and I will go adventuring with more intention and frequency. Heck, I have even started looking the part with leggings and a puffy coat. šŸ¤©Hereā€™s to voting with my actions and making 2023 the year of Strong Mom. Next Christmas, I can go into @rei or @bassproshops confident of what I need for my next adventure. Because Iā€™ve been there and done that.
