Embracing My Hiking Self
"Every action you take is a vote for the person you wish to become."

Iāve been thinking about this quote since I read this habit-changing book. He makes it sound so simple. Then again, if it was, maybe it wouldnāt take a whole book to convince us. š
Do you ever imagine a different You?
šŖ“The Joanna Gaines You at Target.
š¦The organized You at the Container Store.
šThe well-dressed You at the mall.
š„¾Hiking Me loves camping gear.
Sheās been hidden for decades.
She wants to know what it feels like to adventure for miles in hiking boots.
She wants to looks in the mirror and sees a hiker.
To be Toughness & Strength. šļø
I think I spent every summer of my childhood in Colorado wanting to be that person. But, my family didnāt hike. We camped in an RV. Roughing it was going without electricity in the camper for five days with a generator and a pit potty for daytime use. (Sorry, Mom and Dadā¤ļø)
Two decades later, itās time to become this person. I bought a proper day bag at REI. I have a weekend overnight hike planned with friends in April. The kids and I will go adventuring with more intention and frequency. Heck, I have even started looking the part with leggings and a puffy coat.
š¤©Hereās to voting with my actions and making 2023 the year of Strong Mom. Next Christmas, I can go into @rei or @bassproshops confident of what I need for my next adventure. Because Iāve been there and done that. Iām Hiking Me.
