Reclaiming Wonders
A young boy wearing a blue jacket and cap is peering through the glass window of a classic red telephone booth on a city street. The boy's face is pressed against the window, his hands on the glass, displaying a playful and curious expression as he explores the iconic British phone booth. The red paint on the telephone box is slightly chipped and weathered, adding character and a sense of age. The background is slightly blurred, suggesting the focus is on the boy's interaction with this iconic urban structure.

Embracing Life Outside the Box

Somehow I became a rebel. Ironic. I always thought of myself as a rule follower. Majorly. Don’t stir the pot. Don’t get involved in sides. Avoid confrontation. Walk the middle of the line. But then I became a homeschooler?? What happened? I guess I stopped caring if others didn’t approve of how I stir? Or what’s in my pot? ;) . . Husband approves and supports. Jesus guides. Kids love and live it. Here we are, being US. And here’s me, trying to stop pleasing everyone else and learning to worry about us only. . . This is us thinking outside the box. And here’s Hunter jumping in every London telephone box he could find a year ago. And I’m so glad we stopped listening to other people who said we shouldn’t or couldn’t do things. . . You want to take the WHOLE family overseas? You’re going to drive across the country with just you and the kids? You’re not going to follow the standard school expectations? Your kids don’t play sports? Etc. . . PS: I’m a homeschool rebel too ;) with major unschool tendencies. And I don’t stick to the typical Mom book list. And we watch movies and TV. And I don’t hop out of bed at 6 to get the day ready. And I don’t usually have a detailed schedule. . . And it’s us. And it’s beautiful. You be you. I’m daily working on accepting us for us and me for me without looking at what you’re doing for comparison. Here’s to living life outside the box!
