Embracing Children's Independence
Don’t create independent children…
Because they’ll just become independent. 👏🏻🥳😃
Next thing you know, they’ll want to …
💙Think for themselves and
💙Justify their position and
💙Do “dangerous” things and
💙Make their own meals and…
You’ll sit back and realize…
It’s your fault. 🙂
So when your 15 year old declares that Wednesdays are a rest day because she was in class all day and did work on the weekend…
You let her.
❓Who am I to tell her to quit doing all that thinking and planning for herself.
Go to the beach on a Wednesday. Because you can.
Let her take break and watch.
That independent kid might just read for fun or practice piano or play a game or or edit her movie or go on a walk…
You wouldn’t want her to waste all that time. 😂
So as long as she keeps rockin’ class, I guess I’ll let her be her own boss…
That’s the ultimate goal after all, right?
