Children's Impromptu Investigation
I came across this impromptu morning planning session of their investigations into the cause of the flower blooms closing. The original hypothesis was that Dad plugged up the carpenter bees he found carving into the deck so there were fewer pollinators. It has changed to be that perhaps there has been too much rain lately. While I was yelling about breakfast, it seems there were outside counting the number of worms around the base of the blooming flowers and plan to compare to the nonbloomers.
Perhaps I should stop scheduling and yelling about “things that should happen” and see what they are making happen on their own... so much better than eating an uninspiring breakfast. All while little brother sits down to draw me another cardinal.
We’ll see how much further this goes since they like to come up with ideas and not follow through... them again, so does their mother ;)
Is it normal for red daylilies to bloom and then close after only three days? Now to find that rain gauge.... since I made them clean up all the cups they had scattered in the yard making their own... yes, should have left those out too I guess!
