Reclaiming Wonders
The image depicts a domestic scene of four children engaged in playing and learning together. They have gathered on the floor of a living room area with various board games, books, and activity materials spread out around them. One child, a young girl wearing a red plaid dress, appears focused on something in her hands, perhaps a small toy or puzzle piece. Another child, a girl with blonde hair wearing a blue top, is leaning over what seems to be a board game or puzzle on the floor. The third child, a boy in a green shirt, is seated cross-legged, also engaged with the activities on the floor. The fourth child, a boy in a blue shirt, is holding what looks like a game or book, contributing to the collaborative play session. The scene exudes a sense of harmony, creativity, and childhood wonder, with the children immersed in their own imaginative world.

Childhood Rebellion: Game Day for Kids

Mutiny? Anarchy? Rebellion? However you define it. At least they’re working together 😉 . These four have it figured out. Sometimes Mom won’t interrupt and declare morning time if they’re “busy”. I’ve heard so many moms ask this question or say they don’t want to interrupt when they’re playing nicely. It’s okay! Don’t! . They huddled and whispered and hauled a stack of games into the floor of my room declaring they needed the space. And the game day declaration lasted hours while I enjoyed a break. . But that’s okay. I love that I have the freedom to give them time together. A childhood of relaxation. And sneaky game learning even if they think it’s just fun. . As one of our favorites (TJeff) once said, “A little rebellion now and then is a good thing.” Books can be read at lunch. And Mom? Go find a book and hide. 😉
