Celebrating Childhood Friendship Beyond Age Differences
Reason 6524 to love homeschooling: Kids see kids and not age or grade level. And I love it.

A couple of years ago I approached a neighbor in an attempt to make a friend for my son. (Way out of my comfort zone!!) She informed me her kid was two years older than mine and left it at that. Obviously, to her, that meant they would not be compatible. Their loss I guess.

On today’s outing, yes, we saw flowers at the botanical garden. Primarily, we played and hung out and got to be ourselves with some besties —- and got to be kids with kids.

My littlest doesn’t see himself as 6 years younger than big boys. Just another opportunity for a friend. A friend who will carry you around maybe 🥰

Parents, don’t point out age differences to your kids. Just introduce them to good kids who will love them no matter what. If your kids do see the differences, let’s try showing the similarities. Maybe we could change so much else about our intolerant world...
