Reclaiming Wonders
The image depicts a lively scene of a homeschooling group gathering. A group of children and adults are sitting and standing together in a covered outdoor area. Some children are sitting on cushions or chairs, while others are standing or moving around. The adults, who appear to be parents or caregivers, are engaged in conversation with the children and each other. The atmosphere seems relaxed and casual, with a sense of community and togetherness. The scene captures the essence of homeschooling, where education and socialization are intertwined, and families form close-knit bonds.

Benefits of Homeschooling: Building Family-Like Bonds

So instead of sticking with the stereotype of “Homeschoolers know how to speak with adults”, maybe we should say “Why don’t all kids?”... . I love that when it is time to leave our homeschool friends, there are hugs for all... including the parents. My kids love the parents just as much (and sometimes more! ) than the kids. We know the whole family and see it is a unit. They stand around and talk. Not kids and parents. But all. And the kids think nothing about it. . This fact will keep me homeschooling far longer than higher test scores or religious freedom or even travel time! . Look for ways for your kids to be around parents. Stop segregating. Order their own food. Invite over the parents and not just the kids. Push them and yourself. Don’t limit your kids relationships but expand them. . They can’t grow into awesome adults if they aren’t surrounded my awesome adults!!! .
