Reclaiming Wonders
A young blond boy with a cherubic face is standing in a kitchen, holding a pair of binoculars with one hand and biting the strap with his mouth. He is wearing a khaki vest with multiple pockets, likely a nature exploration vest, over a black t-shirt. Behind him, various kitchen items and appliances can be seen, including a whisk, a jar, a potted plant, and a coffee maker. The scene conveys a sense of a child's playful curiosity and fascination with the natural world.

A Nature-Loving Boy's Christmas

I know a little boy who hasn’t taken off his nature hike vest since he got it this afternoon for “Shris-mas” (I’m afraid he might actually be calling it Christmas next year!). He out of the blue said this afternoon “I’m ready for some nature!” And kept going about his business. This year’s Christmas included binoculars, compasses, new nature backpacks for all, field guides, nature journals, camping chairs, coolers for camping, paracord bracelets, and more. It’s evident the nature / outdoor part of us is seen by all. And here’s to this little boy that has never known it another way since Mom started this journey after he was born. He doesn’t remember the rush and the hurry and the full time working Mom who wouldn’t have had time to soak up his words and birds and walks. I like this Mom so much better.
