Hiking to an Alpine Lake in Washington
You can’t miss this alpine lake in Washington:
📏8.7 mi
📈2,342 ft elevation gain
🌲 Shaded for most of it
💵 $5 CASH only to park
Overnight permits required & they’re nearly impossible to get (we tried 😩)
This hike is rated hard on @alltrails and I have to agree. While we he elevation gain is fairly gradual, the distance is rather long. This hike is very popular so expect to see crowds no matter when you go in the summer.
Pack a lunch & swimsuit for when you reach the lake! And don’t forget to look out for wildlife. We spotted a bald eagle, very brave chipmunks (pls don’t feed) and a mountain goat!
As always, please respect this beautiful area by staying on trail, packing out all of your food waste and respecting wildlife by giving them plenty of distance and resisting the urge to feed them 🫶🏼
Do you have plans to conquer this hike this summer?
