Tips for Safe Road Trips During the Pandemic
Since we all are itching for more travel this year and road tripping still seems to be the safer option, I thought I would give y’all my biggest tips for traveling during the pandemic.

🧐Research each states guidelines/laws prior to leaving. Colorado has pretty strict laws and at least for me knowing where things were going to be a little more ‘relaxed’ kept me from being shocked when someone got to close in a gas station bathroom without a mask on. On the flip side, knowing if you can walk around in a park with or without a mask on can save you the potential of getting a fine or having to scramble for a mask if park ranger approaches you about wearing one.

😷 Bring extra masks and put one in each coat pocket and bag you bring. Without a doubt you’ll get so excited about exploring a new place or will be rushing to catch a sunrise or sunset and forget to grab the most convenient one, so instead of having to run back to the car you can snag one of the stowaways.

🧴Bring and/or don’t forget plenty of hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes. On our latest road trip we ran into plenty of rest areas that were out of soap so having the hand sanitizer was great. It’s also good practice to wash/sanitize your hands a little more often than you normally would. The wipes came in handy when having to touch things we couldn’t avoid like gas pump handles. We also used them to wipe off our phones. 📱

🚙 Car camp! (Or just camp) It will save you a ton of money and keep you well distanced from a lot of people. If you must get a hotel check their guidelines to how long they wait prior to letting a new guest check into a room and whip out those wipes when you get in the room and wipe everything you can down.
-
🌲Keep your road trip nature based. We all are itching for a good bar crawl or club night and free for all’s in a public pools but it’s safest to keep to exploring nature and wide open spaces.
