Nikki Tomlin
The image captures a stunning seascape with crystal clear turquoise waters and a vibrant sky that transitions from shades of blue to soft pinks near the horizon. In the foreground, a woman wearing a pink swimsuit stands waist-deep in the shallow waters, shielding her face from the sun with her hand. The composition is framed beautifully, with a small boat and its anchor line leading the eye towards the subject. The image exudes a sense of tranquility and paradise, inviting the viewer to imagine themselves in this serene tropical setting.

Underestimating Photo Edits

Give your photos a chance 📸 When I saw that first shot in camera I thought ‘meh with the right edit it could take up a slide.’ As I started editing this set I kept coming back to this shot and ultimately said ‘damn is this the first photo in the set? I think so!’ The framing of the boat and the anchor line to the subject (myself) ended up being so perfect after I removed all the little heads of people that were around me. Something I learned a long time ago with photography is do as much as you can in camera, meaning on site while you’re photographing, and don’t rely on editing to make your images perfect. But something else I’ve also learned is editing will surprise you in more ways than one no matter how much you do in camera or how much you think you know about your editing software. So give yourself and your images a chance while photographing and in the edit. Even if that means walking away and coming back for a fresh perspective! I’m thinking of starting a subscriptions option to my page here for weekly editing, photo, and video content. I would still share tips and tricks here but would be a little bit more hands on there. Would y’all be interested in that? 📸 @prettyliltraveler way to hit that framing girl! ✨ edited by me!
