Realities of Living in Colorado

What is it actually like to live in Colorado? I get quite a few message and comments daily saying “Man I want to move there so bad!” Or “I’m moving there in a couple weeks and I’m so excited!” Which is awesome! You should move to those places you’ve always dreamed about or be excited that you’ve made the jump to follow your dreams. Shoot I’m excited for you because I’ve made many of those type of moves in my life (one being to CO) and it’s always worth it! Learning the realities of a new places is always the interesting part though 🤪 So here are some key realities to living in CO: I hope you like spending money because laaawd is the cost of living high. I’ve lived in NYC and not many other places compare to there but Denver is close, along with pretty much anywhere in the mountains. I also hope you like sitting in traffic and know how to deal with crazy drivers (I’m assuming you’re not one 🤞🏻). Depending on your job and hobbies it’s possible to avoid traffic but sometimes it will be 11am and you’ll be sitting in dead stop traffic hoping for a flash mob to bust out with full La La Land grace for ample entertainment. The weather is WACK! We have it all! Maybe not hurricanes or tsunamis but there have been more than a few times where I’ve thought I was going to see one of each 🤪 People are EVERYWHERE! In the mountains, out in the plains, and down every alley. Most of which are super friendly. I don’t have many issues with people in person about not being from here but there are quite a few people on the internet who are upset that I have a map and access to the internet and chose to live here, so if you have a presence online and plan to move here, brace yourself 😬 All of this being said, it’s still worth it! I love living here because all these realities cannot outweigh the beautiful parts of this state and what it being to my lifestyle. So make the jump and move where your heart desires! Where do you dream of living most?
