A young woman with long, flowing hair stands on a dirt path winding through a scenic landscape of rolling hills covered in golden, dry vegetation. Her hair is blown back by the wind, revealing her joyful expression with a bright smile. She is wearing a cropped white top and black pants or leggings. The woman strikes a carefree, lighthearted pose, with one arm extended and her body twisted slightly. The surrounding scenery features mountains in the distance under a partly cloudy sky with rays of sunlight streaming through. The image exudes a sense of freedom, adventure, and harmony with nature.

Leave No Trace: Protect Nature

✨Leave No Trace Friday!✨ (Save this post for your next outdoor adventure and share it with everyone who goes outdoors!) Today’s principle of Leave No Trace that we are going to cover is principle 4: leave what you find! Leaving what you find includes minimizing site alterations, not damaging trees and plants, and leaving natural objects and cultural artifacts out in nature! 🏕 Minimizing site alterations means leaving areas as you found them. Don’t dig trenches or construct chairs or tables out of things around your campsite and if you moved something out of your way to set up camp (rocks, pine cones, or twigs) be sure to put them back when you leave. This also includes any additional fire rings that were made in high traffic sites and fire rings made in less trafficked areas. 🌲 Let’s not damage the trees and plants yall! Don’t hammer nails, carve anything, or wrap guide wires around trees! Picking wildflowers is another no no. Some of these flowers are slow growing and slow to reproduce and if we all said “I’ll just take one” then there would be no plants to enjoy! 🦌Leaving natural objects and cultural artifacts gives others the opportunity to have a sense of discovery when they stumble across them. And taking things like leaves and twigs robs certain animals of things they need to survive! Cultural artifacts are protected by the Archeological Protection Act making it illegal to take these items from public lands.
