Hiking the Acatenango Volcano in Guatemala

An experience for the books 🌋 Hiking the Acatenango volcano in Guatemala will forever be an experience that is engrained in who I am. I swear, it changed me. I’ve had moments since where I say to myself “I made it to the top of that volcano so I can do XXX.” The other thing about this experience is it helped my fall in love with a part of photography I had let go of. For awhile, I’ve been pretty in my head about having the skills to truly be a travel or adventure photographer. I was traveling and adventuring but didn’t think I was worthy of holding my camera in a lot of moments. But witnessing this sunset changed that for me. That shot in the second slide, plus a few more I haven’t edited, ignited my desire to hold a camera in places and situations I had let myself back away from. I will scream about living your dreams over anything until the day die, but I will also talk about it not being easy. Sometimes the world creeps in and your brain plays tricks on you, but then the world creeps in a different way and all of a sudden you’re living a wild adventure you had always dreamed about. What’s a bucket list adventure that changed your life?
