Nikki Tomlin
A young woman in a crop top and shorts stands on a sandy beach, with an ominous stormy sky looming overhead. The dark clouds are tinged with shades of gray and purple, creating a dramatic contrast with the bright turquoise waters of the ocean in the background. The sand appears golden and pristine, and a low concrete wall or walkway separates the beach from the water. The woman's hair is windswept, and her stance suggests a sense of calmness and serenity amidst the impending storm. The image evokes a sense of tranquility and resilience in the face of nature's power.

Visiting Hawaii During COVID-19 Restrictions

How to visit Hawaii during these crazy times! (Save this post for your trip to Hawaii!) I asked you all what you wanted to know about visiting Hawaii and an overwhelming amount of you wanted to know how to do it with the COVID restrictions. Even though it’s seems like things are letting up with the vaccines and the lifting of the mask mandate, if you’re vaccinated, Hawaii is not letting up. In fact, Maui just instated a new requirement upon entry.. a second COVID test! Don’t worry, you don’t have to pay out of pocket for that one. Before we get there though let’s talk steps prior to getting on your flight! Once you book your ticket you should be sent a link with information on where to sign up for Hawaii Safe Travels. If not, head to travel.Hawaii.gov. This is a website where you enter all your trip details (including where you are staying while you are there), complete a health questionnaire, and upload your negative test results. The trickiest part is the COVID test. They provide links to find an approved testing sight near you, but pay attention to what you’re clicking on because it’s very easy to end up on a list of ALL testing sights and not just trusted partners for Hawaii Safe Travels. Be sure before you book an appointment to ask an individual if they are a trusted partner. (Cuyler had to get a second test done LAST SECOND because the first place he went was not a trusted travel partner 😬) And it’s important that this test be done 72 hours prior to the last leg of your flight to Hawaii! The safe travels program will tell you immediately if your test is approved or not and because lines/appointments aren’t as insane anymore it is possible to get a second test if things don’t go right the first time. Within 24 hours of your flight you also are required to complete a basic health questionnaire where you answer questions about how you’re feeling and if you’ve been exposed. All of these things HAVE to be done before you get on that last leg of your flight. If you don’t complete a step you will be required to quarantine for 10 days. If you have questions, shoot me a message and I’ll gladly do my best to help! 😁
