Alaska Cruise Packing and Tips

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT CRUISING TO ALASKA PART 2 (Save this post for planning your cruise to Alaska and share it with your travel buddy!) šŸ§£What should you pack for a cruise to Alaska? Layers layers layers. I went in September and was hiking through the rain sweating. There are also a couple of formal nights onboard, more than a couple hot tubs, and things like surfing and indoor skydiving. I will be posting a what to pack for a cruise to Alaska video on my YouTube channel in a couple weeks. Be sure to subscribe so you donā€™t miss it! Link in my bio! šŸ›‚ Do you need a passport? Yes! We didnā€™t make any stops in Canada but typically (a global crisis aside) there are stops in Canada but either way the cruise line did require for us to bring our passports. But be sure to check with the cruise line prior! šŸš Should I purchase shore excursions? In my opinion, you donā€™t need to unless there is something very specific that you would like to do. I chose to hike at ever stop on my cruise which didnā€™t require a booked excursion and saved me some money. However, I made friends with people who booked a few excursions and their top recommendation is the helicopter and glacier hiking tour which honestly looked pretty epic! šŸŖŸShould you book a stateroom with a balcony? For this cruise I say 100% yes! Waking up every morning to wild coastal views of Alaska was incredible! And if you donā€™t want to hang with the crowds to see the glacier youā€™ll 100% be able to see it from your room! There are cheaper room options with balconies but be sure to book well in advance. Would you opt to viewing glaciers with the crowds or from your stateroom? šŸ“ø @sonyalpha A7II with @tamronusa 28mm-200mm. Assistance from @madeline.lauren and edited by me using my Freedom preset!
