My Creative Process for Photography
A breakdown of my creative process 👇🏻
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good concept to execute from beginning to end over a long period of time with loads of details to go with it, but it’s hard to always do that while traveling.
It’s been an incredibly long time since I’ve really done this and I’ve made it a goal of mine this year to do a bit more to keep growing my skills and to help y’all with your own ideas!
BUT it’s also super fun to let the creative juices flow in new places. That doesn’t mean I come empty handed though!
Posing is a huge struggle to 99.99% of people so something I do and something I tell my clients to do is to find poses they like and practice them in the mirror. And then store them away for the photo shoot.
For me, once I have a pocket of poses and find a location and composition I like I will experiment with what pose will look good in that spot and if the framing needs to change a bit to accommodate it.
It’s all truly a trial and error situation! If you don’t know/have your own style yet, keep practicing. I spent the entirety of college and many years after with NO clue what my style was or how to pose myself but I just kept chuggin’ along!
What’s your biggest struggle with photographing yourself?
