Choosing Happiness Over Stability
This is your sign to choose yourself ✨
My nieces asked me yesterday “how do you pick something you want to do for work for the rest of your life?” And my response was to try anything that you find interesting and if it ends up being something you don’t like switch to something new. You could even like something for 10 years and then decide it’s not for you anymore. You’re allowed to change your mind at any point.
They then said “It would just be so much easier to find what I like and not have to keep switching… paying bills is going to be hard that way I think.” I said, no matter what you do it’s going to be hard but you ultimately have to decide if money or your happiness is more important and find a balance of both because that’s the world be live in.
Is this solid advice? I’m not sure but it’s definitely something I wish I would have been told when I was younger. Feeling like I had to make all my life decisions at 18 and then to not follow through with any didn’t feel good. Now I know, no one knows what’s going on 99% of the time anyway so you might as well do what makes you happy.
What did you think you were going to be doing as a job when you were 18? Are you doing it?
