Car Camping Safety Tips

Have you car camped before? (Save this post for your next or first car camping experience!) Car camping has become my favorite way to save money while road tripping so I thought I would share some safety tips! 🚨First and imo most important, if it doesn’t feel safe then start up and move to a new spot! 🚨Make sure someone knows where you are and how long you’re going to be there. (This is a good safety tip for any kind of travel or adventure) 🚨Pick a spot under a light if you’re staying in a parking lot or rest area. 🚨Take a self defense class and/or carry bear spray or pepper spray. Sadly I’m really talking to you solo traveling ladies.. but even if you aren’t solo this is still important! 🚨Keep that drivers seat clear in case you need to get out of a spot quickly. 🚨Put all of your valuables out of sight so if you’re in the car or leave the car there isn’t an extra incentive to break in. 🚨Keep you’re keys handy, a charge on your phone, and lock your doors when going to sleep! 🚨Cover your windows as best as possible. Ideally you should have cutouts for each window so no one can see in. 🚨Check the weather to avoid freezing or getting stuck. Make sure to pack a safety kit and extra blankets just in case! 🚨And lastly, research where to car camp before you get there so you can potentially avoid sketchy situations and areas!
